Rest Easy Before Publication with a Professional Proofread

Are You Ready for a Proofread?

Proofreading is the final stage of the editing process. The last look before your book makes its way into readers’ hands.

Your manuscript should already have been professionally edited, as proofreading is the process of catching any lingering errors which have slipped through previous rounds of editing.

What’s Involved

1. A full, pre-publication check

As a certified proofreader I will read through your manuscript in its final form, looking for basic spelling and grammar issues as well as typesetting errors.

This process will include:

  • ensuring consistency in design, such as page numbers and running/chapter heads;

  • checking for consistent capitalization and hyphenation;

  • marking changes in illustrations and tables; and

  • flagging illogical, repeated, or missing text and dropped lines.

2. A style sheet

If one is not provided, I will create a comprehensive style sheet which outlines decisions about capitalization, spelling, hyphenation, numbering, and any other textual concerns.
